Printable Hocus Pocus Questions

It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE Hocus Pocus fan, and we love to host Hocus Pocus movie nights and even a Hocus Pocus themed trick or treat every year! I even dress up as Mary Sanderson and convince my friends to dress up as the other Sanderson sisters.

I created this printable trivia quiz so that you can use it for your movie nights or Halloween parties, too! And who knows, if you read the rest of this post, there might be a few hidden answers for some of the trivia questions!

Hocus Pocus has become a cult classic in recent years, and there’s even a sequel (Hocus Pocus 2) that was released on Disney Plus in 2022. In the original movie, wickedly hilarious Sanderson sisters, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, are resurrected after a virgin lights the black flame candle. I mean what could happen? It’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus!

Printable Hocus Pocus Quiz

The witches take siblings Max and Dani, and their friends Allison and Thackery Binx (who is a talking cat cursed by Winifred Sanderson) on a spooky adventure filled with laughs and scares! This trivia game covers the first Hocus Pocus movie, but I did sneak in a question about Hocus Pocus 2.

I have tried to curate a list of trivia questions with general knowledge for new fans of the movie, as well as some hard ones for those of you that have seen Hocus Pocus dozens of times. From iconic quotes to memorable scenes, to little known trivia facts that might stump you, I came up with the ultimate Hocus Pocus quiz! There was even one in there that I didn’t know until I found it!

Not to give away the answers, I have covered them up in the images of this post. Don’t worry, though – they’re all at the bottom of each card!

Hocus Pocus Trivia Questions

Here are some of the trivia questions that are included (there’s 32 questions in all):

• What does Mary Sanderson ride instead of a broom?
• In what town does Hocus Pocus take place?
• What was the original title of the movie?
• What actress plays Sarah Sanderson?
• What is the name of the zombie that is resurrected by the witches?
• What city were Max and Dani originally from?
• What actor provided the voice for Binx?
• Who lights the black flame candle?

​There are 4 sheets of questions that are sized to fit 8.5 x 11″ printer paper. I prefer my Canon craft printer that prints BORDERLESS sheets – it allows you to take the artwork right to the edge of the paper! You can print the quiz at home and cut out the trivia questions and answers as many times as you want!

My Favorite Disney Halloween Movies

These movies are great for kids and parents who love a good scary story. Although this isn’t all of the Halloween movies on my list, they are thirteen of my favorites that I think you should watch! Keep reading to the end of the post for over 45 more Disney Halloween movie night ideas! I’ve included older Disney Halloween movies, new Disney Halloween movies, and some of the top Disney Halloween movies of all time!

Tower of Terror–  A Hollywood hotel’s haunted attraction is open for the season, but an elevator malfunctions and takes some visitors to a real-life version of hell. Coming soon: a NEW version starring Black Widow herself, Scarlett Johannson!

Monsters Inc.– Mike and Sully, while working on their scaring skills, are caught off-guard when a little girl they were hired to scare runs away-right into the clutches of Randall, an evil child-hating monster.

Monsters University– Mike and Sulley are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other.

The Haunted Mansion– A realtor (Eddie Murphy) and his family get more than they bargained for when they visit an old mansion that they thought was abandoned. Plus there’s the newest Haunted Mansion movie that released in July 2023!

Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas– This is one of my favorite Walt Disney Halloween movies! When Jack Skellington, the king of Halloween Town, attempts to bring Christmas to the land of Halloween, things don’t go exactly as planned.

Halloweentown High– Marnie (Kimberly J. Brown) would prefer not to use magic if she can help it, so she finds herself at odds with her whole family; meanwhile Dad tries to fit into his role as principal after taking over from Mom–who was fired by the school board.

Hocus Pocus–  Thanks to a teenager that lights a black flame candle, the three Sanderson sisters return after over 300 years and find that things aren’t quite what they remembered. This is my absolute FAVORITE Disney Halloween movie, and I watch it several times every year!

Spooky Buddies– The adorable golden retriever puppies in this Disney Halloween film are recruited by a witch to be her “pawsome” helpers on Halloween night.

Toy Story of Terror– What starts out as a fun trip in the family car to spend Halloween with Aunt Ginny turns into an old-fashioned nightmare when Woody’s evil double gets the best of him.

Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge–  Marnie’s back in her hometown, and this time she has to save the town from an evil witch who wants to steal everyone’s souls.

Maleficent–  When a powerful fairy is injured, she seeks revenge against the prince who betrayed her.

Into the Woods–  A witch places a curse of the baker and his wife, and they must venture through the woods to undo it. Along the way they run into several fairy tale characters that play a part in their journey.

Coco– A boy accidentally travels to the land of the dead in search of his ancestors, but finds a place that holds the secret of why music is banned in his family.

After you’ve watched my favorite Halloween movies made by Disney, make sure you check out ALL of these other options – they’re all awesome and sure to be family favorites! In my opinions, they are some of the best Halloween movies out there! They include Disney Channel original movies, more of the Halloweentown franchise, television shows, and current offerings on the Disney Pus Hallowstream. Some are even new Disney offerings for this year!

My favorite Halloween movie is Hocus Pocus, and I’m so excited that Disney World has decided to use the Sanderson sisters as the “mascots” for the Halloween party this year! There is special Hocus Pocus merchandise at the parks including cupcakes, purses, shirts, jewelry and more! AND, there’s a Hocus Pocus 2 movie now, too!

Although I love this Hocus Pocus cat SVG design I made, I wanted to make a special Amuck Amuck Amuck SVG as well! (I visited the parks a couple of weeks ago during a Halloween party, and Disney uses the “Amuck!” spelling, as much as it drives me crazy.) If you are partial to the traditional spelling, I have an Amok Amok Amok design, too.

How to Make your own DIY Hocus Pocus Shirt with a Cricut or Silhouette

Upload the Hocus Pocus SVG file to your cutting software and size it to fit your shirt or onesie. Make sure to MIRROR the design before cutting, and then cut when ready. The shiny side of the vinyl goes DOWN on your mat. Weed away the extra vinyl. Iron on or use the EasyPress 2 to press the vinyl design onto the shirt. If you’re using the Cricut EasyPress, for recommendations based on your materials, you can check out the Cricut EasyPress Recommended Settings.
